Sam and I treated ourself to a couple of new posh teas today because they were on special in Tesco. The one I chose was an aniseed detox tea, different to anything I have tried before and really nice. Thought I would give my hipstamatic app a go and took this photo.

#9 - First time I have tried Butternut Squash and Peanut Butter soup! 26/01/2013
Quite by accident I must add! We had it at D of E today and I didn't know what it was until I was half way through! I despise peanut butter but it was very subtle and tasted fantastic!
#7 - First session of the Outstanding Training Programme 25/01/2013
I thoroughly enjoyed today. Kept being told how much of a challenge it was going to be and how much it was going to put us outside our comfort zone, which it did but it was great! It was nice to meet other Primary and Secondary teachers from other schools. It's funny though, my inner child comes out when I am put in a classroom learning kind of scenario. It reminded me how much I actually do love to learn though. It's already made me think a lot about my teaching, and has given me ideas I can't wait to try like the "Feelings, Learning, Questions" hoops which I want to put in my observation lesson next week, mainly just to show Isn what I have learnt! Am looking forward to next week's session already!
#6 - First time out in my new wellies! 18/01/2013
The snow came today, and descended very quickly on Chailey School! I taught PSHE then we all got sent home. I was home by 10:30am so Sam and I went for a walk in the snow, a good chance to try out my new wellies! This is me outside our house:

#4 - Chilli Chicken Stew with Greek Yogurt
Tried a new recipe this evening; Chilli chicken stew with Greek yogurt. It was easy to make and I served it with mixed veg so a healthy boost to the new year!
#3 - Meet baby Sophie for the first time 04/01/13
Today I took a trip to Burgess Hill to meet my friend Megan who I used to work with at Reigate School. I haven't seen her for a few months, and on 9th December she had a little girl called Sophie. Today was the first time I have seen Sophie and she is so tiny and new and ever so gorgeous!
That's three in 4 days, but I am going to try a new recipe for dinner this evening which will help me keep on track!

#2 - Send a birthday gift to a complete stranger 02/01/2013
This came about as I am part of a 'Brides 2014' group on Facebook made up of some really lovely ladies. They organised a very successful Secret Santa but I joined the group too late to be a part of it, so instead have joined in the Birthday tree. I have bought a gift for Claire whose birthday is on 7th, and someone will buy for me on my birthday. Here is a picture of the gift wrapped, I hope she likes it!

#1 - First walk to Lakes Wood 01/01/13
Today is New Year's Day so my fiance and I decided to go for a walk to Lakes Wood, which is a place about 10 minutes away from where we live. We were really lucky with the weather, it has been a beautiful sunny day and we walked about 6 miles in total!
There is a lot of sandstone in Lakes Wood, including a tunnel which has been carved into the sandstone. You can also walk up on top of the tunnel and see this fantastic view across the lake:
We live in an amazing place!
1 new thing down, 364 to go!
